Lisa Aquino
Lisa Aquino is a now 39 year old triple negative breast cancer survivor from Huntington, NY. Lisa is an attorney and is a graduate of Herricks High School, New York University and Hofstra Law School.
She was diagnosed with stage 2B breast cancer three years ago in November 2021 at just 36 years old after discovering a palpable lump in her armpit while nursing her then newborn son, Jack. While still working full time and raising two young children with her husband, Jason, Lisa underwent 16 rounds of chemotherapy, a year of immunotherapy infusions, 25 sessions of radiation, a double mastectomy and reconstructive surgery. Lisa is excited to share that she has no evidence of disease since June 2022. She continues to work as an advocate for early detection of breast cancer, particularly among young women and those with no family history like herself by sharing her own personal story and raising funds each year for the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk. Lisa has been interviewed by WBAB NY radio station and was featured in Newsday in October 2024. Lisa continues to use her platform as the chairperson of the women's employee resource group at her company to spread awareness about breast cancer. Lisa continues to volunteer her time mentoring other newly-diagnosed young women through Memorial Sloan Kettering and other organizations.
